This formula has been in my family since the late 1800’s that I know off. It helps with pain, muscle spasms, stimulate circulation and reduce inflammation.
Ingredients needed:
2 Tbsp. Corydalis Root
2 Tbsp. Ginger Root
2 Tbsp. Cramp Bark
2 Tbsp. Peppermint
2 Tbsp. Meadowsweet
2 Tbsp. California Poppy
1 Tbsp. Cayenne Pepper (powder is ok)
2 cups of water
2 cup white vinegar
With a mortar and Pestle, bruise the Corydalis Root, Cramp Bark and Ginger root. Bring 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 cup of water to a boil. Add roots, cover and allow to simmer on low for 15 minutes. Add the rest of the water, vinegar bring to a boil and remove from the stove. Add the remaining herbs, cover with lid, and let them steep for 10 more minutes. Strain and allow it to cool until it’s comfortable to the touch. Soak a washcloth in the mixture and wring it out. Place it in the area (example Low back) where you have the pain, cover with a plastic bag and a dry towel and place a heating pad on top. This will help the herb penetrate faster. Relax and let it penetrate for 15 to 20 minutes. Follow with our Analgesic Salve.
Why the vinegar? Vinegar enhances the ability of the herbs, to break down stagnant blood.
