Making Witches Bottles and Jars

Yesterday, I decided to do a little craft that Penny Parker inspired me with. I like to infuse my own medicinal oils and tinctures to make all kinds of stuff. Been doing it for a long time amongst other things. I do like to paint my jars (the outside) with a dark color because it helps the herbs and infusions have a much better shelf life and this way I can pass the benefits to those who use them. Penny posted how to antique the bottles and I thought this would be a great idea to make them look more attractive. Crazy me, I forgot to take pictures of the bottle before I painted them, but here they are. WHAT DO YOU THINK????

This procedure makes them look old and rusty almost and the labels are perfect. This way not only I get to store my stuff in a much cooler container, but I can use them for halloween as well.

I use deferent kind of bottles and jars that I've recycled and sterilized for the purpose of re using them again.

this is what the jars look like before I got started.

And ready for display.

If you are curious on how to make these, go to our Facebook page "The Wacky Broomstick" and scroll dow till you find the instructions, or go directly to Penny's page.
